Web Design
So, you've got your Domain Name registered and your Web host set up.
Now all you need is a website for your users to visit for the cash to start rolling in.
Since this is a guide to get started earning cash quickly I will not go into depth on web design. Instead I will give some tips
on how to lay out your site in a clear manner which in turn will attract more users and cashflow, and importantly, keep users coming back.
I will also provide some links to good sources on basic web design
Basic layout
Use a simple layout that users are familar with.
Keep your navigation on the left hand side of the screen and the header on top. Feel free to add another sidebar on the right hand side.
This is appropriate for advertisements!
Color theme
Pick a color theme which you will use consistently throughout your website and make sure the colors compliment each other!
Keep the number of different colors to a bare minimum. If you use a lot of colors that do not go well together, or do not use
them consistently, your users will get confused and your site will look less than professional. Make sure your text has high contrast
and is easy on the eyes. E.g. black on white is good, cyan on yellow will make your eyes bleed.
KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
If your website will be hosting content to attract users avoid using fancy technologies like flash to build your site. This may look pretty
but will actually make your site less accessible and may confuse users. They are here for your interesting content, not to be amazed by your
awesome flash effects. Do not rely on javascript for your page to function either for the same reason.
Tips for navigation
- Use common names for navigational links like ("Home", "Contact us", "About us").
- Your website logo should be linked to your home page.
- Provide text navigation at the bottom of long pages so users don't have to scroll back up.
